The Bears — London Wedding Band & Party Band
We're The Bears, a professional four-piece wedding and party band based around London, performing at weddings, parties, corporate events and other celebrations across London, the South East and beyond.
We've been doing this for more than 15 years, with a repertoire of over 200 songs covering everything from 60s classics through indie, rock and pop to modern party tunes.
We're normally happiest travelling within roughly 100 miles of London, covering areas including Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. We're also happy to travel further afield when the booking makes sense.
What kind of music do The Bears play?
Our repertoire covers more than 60 years of music, from classic 60s and 70s songs through 80s and 90s favourites, indie, rock, pop and modern dance-floor tunes.
We have more than 200 songs to choose from, and we actively encourage our clients to choose as many favourites as possible.
Rather than asking you to pick an exact running order, your choices give us plenty to work with. We then use our experience to create sets that build throughout the evening, keeping the right songs back for the right moments and, most importantly, keeping people dancing.

Who's in the band?
The Bears are a four-piece band consisting of highly experienced professional touring musicians :
Two guitars
Bass
Drums
Vocals from all four members
We also use professionally produced backing tracks on selected songs to add instruments and production that wouldn't otherwise be possible with a four-piece guitar band.
This lets us keep the energy and feel of a live band while making the bigger songs sound suitably BIG.
How long do The Bears perform?
Our usual live performance options are:
3 x 40-minute sets
or
2 x 60-minute sets
We'll work the live sets around the timings of your event and help decide which format works best for the evening.
Will you learn our first dance?
Usually, yes.
We're very happy to learn and perform a first dance live, providing the song suits the style and instrumentation of the band and we feel we can do it justice.
If we don't think your chosen song will translate well to our particular lineup, we'll tell you rather than murdering your favourite song in front of everyone you've ever met.
Do you provide your own sound system and lighting?
Yes. We bring everything we need to perform.
That includes our full professional sound system, stage lighting and flashing disco lighting for the dance floor.
You don't need to hire a separate PA or lighting system for the band under normal circumstances.
What happens between the live sets?
We provide a party playlist which plays through our sound system before and between the band's live sets, so the music doesn't stop when we do.
If you'd prefer to create your own playlist, or edit ours to better suit your tastes, that's absolutely fine too.
What time do you arrive and finish?
Our standard quotes are based on the band arriving at approximately 6pm and finishing by midnight.
It normally takes us around 45 minutes to set up, including the sound system, instruments and lighting.
If your event requires significantly different timings, just let us know when you enquire and we'll include that in the quote.
How much do The Bears cost?
Our typical price is between £1,295 and £1,595, depending primarily on the date and location of the event.
Travel distance, timings and any unusual requirements can also affect the final quote, so get in touch with your date and venue and we'll give you an exact price.
What kinds of events do you perform at?
Weddings make up a big part of what we do, but we're not exclusively a wedding band.

If there's a stage, a crowd and a decent reason for a party, we're interested.
Are The Bears insured?
Yes.
We carry Public Liability Insurance, and our electrical equipment is PAT tested.
We've also built up a network of trusted professional musicians over more than 15 years, so in the rare event that illness or another genuine emergency prevents one of us performing, we have experienced musicians we can call upon.
Where do The Bears perform?
We're based around London and primarily perform within approximately 100 miles of London.
That regularly puts venues across Greater London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Suffolk comfortably within our usual working area.
We can also travel further across the UK depending on the event, date and budget.

We don't expect every couple or client to want exactly the same night, which is why we've built a repertoire of more than 200 songs and ask you to tell us what you actually like.
You choose loads of favourites. We use those choices to build the live sets. We bring the sound system and lights. We sort the music between sets.
Then we play the songs and you have the party.
